Product Description
The ButtonUp™ is Spyderco’s first-ever manual-opening button-lock folder. Designed by Eric
Glesser, it combines a high-strength, ultra-convenient button-lock mechanism with ball bearing
pivot washers to yield one of the smoothest and most “fidget-friendly” folder actions ever
created. For tactical applications where light discipline is a concern, or for those who simply
prefer low-profile aesthetics, the ButtonUp is also available in an all-black theme. Offering a
choice of either PlainEdge™ or partially serrated CombinationEdge™ formats, the ButtonUp’s
modified clip point blade is crafted from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel. It is full-flat ground for an
exceptional balance of edge geometry and strength and cloaked in a non-reflective black oxide
coating. The blade is housed in a lightweight, open-backed handle built with smooth carbon
fiber/G-10 laminate scales reinforced with nested stainless steel microliners around the pivot
and lock. A reversible hourglass pocket clip provides a choice of left- or right-side tip-up carry
and ensures the ButtonUp is always poised for immediate access. The clip anchors to a second
set of microliners nested in the butt of the handle and straddles a lined lanyard tube that allows
the easy attachment of fobs and lanyards.
